Writing, Parents, Trilogy, Publishing, support, convince

Question by CK: How do i convince my parents to support our writing and publishing a trilogy?

I am 14 years old and i live in the Philippines. I wrote a 117,000 word book with a friend. It is now being edited and proofread (by co-author) and is waiting to be published; another two books are to be written. Meanwhile, our parents seem to think that this is second, third, fourth or even six hundredth priority. It seems like . . . until we hit the bestsellers and make millions of dollars (i'll make sure of that . . .), i think we'll never get the support we need. We'll always have to make excuses or do a hundred other things BEFORE we start to write. How do we convince them that this is something GOOD. How could they realize that we're two of the few young people in the world who could actually write ANYTHING?

I'm a grandparent's age - print this out and tell them I said to support you.
